Attic repairs
Larger animals like raccoons can seriously damage the structure of an attic and roofline. Before cleaning or insulating, we fix what they broke.

Attic cleanout

- Remove soiled insulation, nesting material and waste using HEPA-filtered vacuums
- Treat with an EPA-registered disinfectant, virucide and parasiticide
- Apply a deodorizer to remove lingering odors that can attract other pests
Attic insulation
Insulation that animals have used as a nest or bathroom is compacted, wet and no longer works. We replace it.
- Remove contaminated or damaged insulation
- Install new blown-in fiberglass or cellulose
- Aim for the R-value recommended for the South Jersey climate

The final layer of protection manages the air and moisture boundary of your attic.

Do I need attic cleanout after animals have been in my attic?
Usually yes. Droppings and urine are biological hazards. For example, raccoon waste can carry raccoon roundworm, and rodent droppings can carry hantavirus. Contaminated insulation and nesting material should be removed and the space treated.
What is attic encapsulation?
Encapsulation is air sealing plus a check of your attic ventilation, and in some homes a vapor barrier. It creates an air and moisture boundary that protects new insulation and helps prevent moisture problems.
